Happy Birthday Rylan!

I love this kid! He eats all his veggies and fruits (including spinach and broccoli) but doesn't like cake! I'm sure it is only a matter of time until those two categories are flipped.
Ry got 4 trucks for gifts and they haven't left his hands since we opened the package!

Ry on his new slide set. See how much he loves it?!

Okay so we haven't mastered the art of sliding yet, but it's still a blast!

Look at me?

I want to help you grandpal put it together!

Seeing his cake for the first time.

Happy Birthday to you!

Buddy was our guest of honor (besides Rylan of course) so he got dressed up for the occassion.

Dog cake

Snacking before the party.

It is so hard to believe that one year ago today, Rylan was born. I keep remembering him as this tiny little beautiful baby in my arms. Today we are crawl racing, wrestling, reading, climbing and basically being mischeivious. What a wonderful and fast year. Ry we love you so much and are blessed to call you ours!

Here are some pictures from his party yesterday attended by Adam's parents and brother. Much fun was had, and Buddy made sure to make the party feel crazy. I can't imagine if we had invited more than three guests!

Almost walking!

We went up to church to help decorate for Advent. Ry apparently decided to decorate himself as a snowman out of styrofoam!

Ry is almost 1 and almost walking! He crawls oer to this walker several times a day and walks/crashes all over the house. Hopefully soon we can post pictures of him walking without the walker.

Old Videos

I have been uploading videos this morning and here are two older ones that are really cute!

DISCLAIMER: This is only moderately interesting, unless you are a grandparent, at which point this is reclassified to exciting!

Happy Halloween!

Comander Knight reporting for duty.

Ry was going to dress up as a Tech fan for Halloween, but after the A&M loss, he reconsidered and decided to be an astronaut instead!

We went to Lubbock over the Halloween weekend to go to the game. Brandon also came in from Houston for the game. It was great to see everyone.

Silly guy. He loves to smile for the camera, but these days he makes sure to close his eyes for all pictures.

Doesn't he look darling in an outfit Nee'nee' gave him?

Oh and she also got him this fun Mickey car. It makes all sorts of noises, sings songs and the propellers really work! It's always fun to go to Lubbock just to ride on the Mickey car.

But really, who needs fancy toys? Afterall, what Ry enjoys the most is banging out show tunes on the piano that Brandon and I grew up with.

Ry's new favorite thing. Sit on daddy's shoulders and then peek down at him like he is playing hide and go seek. It's always a fun game until someone sneezes and then rubs it into someone else's hair.

Crawling into Fall

Superbaby has arrived! Ry has new PJ's that his Uncle Chris would be proud of.

Did I mention that he loves to ham it up in front of the camera. If I just hold up a camera, he goes from whatever he was doing to this face. I love it!

More Hamming.

Ry's first trip to the zoo was totally uneventful. He had no interest in any of the animals except the flamingos and ducks. He was VERY interested in all the other children at the zoo. We told him that next time we are saving the $20 and taking him to a daycare instead of the zoo so he can peer at kids through glass for entertainment.

8-9 months

Our sweet baby is quite the poser. Anytime a camera is pulled out, he puts on his biggest grin and cheezes it up! What a doll!

Rylan's friend Reed came to play the other day. Okay, so maybe they don't play together, as much as Rylan just stole Reed's pacifier all day long.

Ringing in a new season of Tech football with dad!

Concert Pianist!

Rylan has been so fun lately! He is now crawling (though he screams as he does it). We call it the wounded soldier crawl. He also says "Hi" and waves when you wave at him. As you can see from the video, Ry is also now taking "lessons" from his Nana Jen. Enjoy!

Weekend trip to Lubbock

Hi, it's Rylan here. My mom said that since I am never quiet and seem to have so much to say lately, I should do a post. Well, what can a 7 almost 8 month old baby say? Maybe you should know that I am creeping around, almost crawling. I love my fruits and veggies, especially peaches and mangos!

Oh and I have great hair! Yeah yeah, I know all you other bald babies are jealous, but what can I say? I come from a long line of great hair genes! Maybe when I grow up I will be a hairdresser. Okay, just kidding, I think everyone says I am a preacher in training because I "preach" so much...whatever that means! Till next time...dadadada bababab lalalababadama!

Little Bit Needs Some Clothes

Ha, Ha, just kidding. Despite his lack of clothing in these videos his two grandmothers have kept him well clothed lately.

7 months

Here is my doll, aka Lil' Bit. He is sitting up in his high chair and eating solids nowadays. Isn't he adorable?!
This has nothing to do with Lil' Bit. It is jus a brag moment on my amazing husband. He has spent the last several weekends doing honey-do's. The best one so far has been the decking he made for our porch. It is 1/4 done, so in a few months we should have a great outdoor living space!

Mom got Ry some new cute clothes. We can't resist anything with a puppy on it. Rylan LOVES dogs (despite this underwhelmed face). Stay tuned as we hope to upload video soon of Rylan laughing at Buddy.

More new clothes. Thanks Mom! Rylan's newest trick is sitting up and trying to crawl. Yikes!

Adam hung this swing a few weeks ago for Rylan. We spend so much time outside enjoying the beautiful 104 degree weather. haha! No really, the swing is great as it helps Ry calm down and get ready for a nap.

Congrats Dr. Ed!

Chris and Jessica with Smilin' Rylan

The Knight boys post-graduation

Knight family picture minus Brittney and Rylan. Graduation went past Rylan's bedtime.

Adam's inspiration for the doctorate degree he hopes to attain some day.

This past week the whole Knight family traveled to Colorado to celebrate Adam's dad's graduation with his doctoral degree. We are so proud of Ed and the perseverance and time he put into this endeavor!
To celebrate this accomplishment, us, Adam's parents, and his brother Chris and his wife Jessica all spent a week at Estes Park, CO. We ate up the cool weather and the slower pace of life. Needless to say, it was a refreshing vacation that rejuvenated us all, only to come back to 100 degree Texas heat.
