My new favorite thing

I am hooked! If you see me around San Antonio with the baby I will probably be wearing my baby sling. Despite the last picture, Rylan really does love his sling. I can take him to church, fix dinner, do chores, attend meetings etc. all with him in tow. He usually falls asleep in the sling and it has a calming effect on him. Besides all that, I don't have to carry the huge car carrier!
My friend Lisa Woods made it for me. She is an amazing seamstress and you can see some of her work at www.DesignsByLisaWoods.etsy.com For any new or expectant moms, I highly recommend the sling!

Rolling Over!

While in Lubbock, Rylan began a new trick, rolling over! He has done it several times but only when he is stretching after he wakes up. At 5 weeks he can roll from his back to front.

More Lubbock Fun

My best friend Sarah and I spotted this lovely mailbox in Lubbock last week. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to share it with you :)

Fun in Lubbock

Posing for Nee' Nee'.

Quality time with GrandSam

Look I can hold up my head!
We spent the week in Lubbock letting Brittney's parents love on the kiddo. Here is Rylan meeting his great grandmother, Rosie.

Raider Romp

All a kid needs is a good diaper and bib.

Rylan's not smiling because Tech lost.

Baby "guns up"

Look of disbelief at the final Cotton Bowl score.

To celebrate the best season in Texas Tech history, mom and dad outfitted Rylan in Raider gear. He wore these for the bowl game, but sadly Rylan was not our lucky charm.

Rylan earned his name during the UT v. Tech game on a bet. We said that if Tech beat UT (which we thought was impossible) that we would name him Rylan like Rylan Reed the Tech offensive lineman. We like to start the brainwashing early!

Chunky Monkey

The pediatrician confirmed today that our little cow is now officially a chunky monkey. At 4 weeks old he now weighs 10 lbs 7 oz! It is quite the chore to clean his triple chin.

This outfit didn't even fit two weeks ago!

Look at those cheeks.

Me and My Buddy

Buddy has a new best friend! Annie has little use for the baby, but Buddy is already a faithful companion to Rylan. He spends his days watching the baby, smelling the baby and ensuring that the baby is okay. Pre-baby, Buddy would run inside and bring us a toy. Nowadays he runs inside, finds Rylan and then brings us a toy.

He also is very concerned about seeing Rylan. If Rylan is nursing under a blanket, Buddy will not rest until he sticks his nose under the blanket and lays eyes on the baby. All I can say is Rylan is a lucky kid to have such a faithful dog.

The daily watch...

Rylan, are you up there?

When I was little

When I was born I weighed 8 lbs. When I left the hospital I weighed 7 lbs 3 oz and was adorable! Then my momma started calling me the little cow because I gained 33 oz in 2 weeks, and at last count I am up to 9 lbs 9 oz.

I am not so little anymore, so here are some pictures to remember when I wore newborn sized diapers and clothes. Tomorrow I turn 4 weeks old!

Hello World

On December 15, 2008 we were thrilled to welcome Little Baby Rylan into our lives. After 24 hours of labor and an unexpected c-section, Charles Rylan Knight was born at 12:56 am at 8 lbs and 20 inches.

We hope to use this site to share his growing moments with loved ones who can not be here with us.
